"...that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect; yet not the wisdom of this world..."
Don't you wish you could convince the fiercest philosophers to stand up and follow the ways of Jesus? For clarification, I must state explicitly what I mean: to follow Jesus means to believe that He is the way, the truth and the life, and there is no way to God except through Him. In "respect" of other religions, we accommodate beliefs similar to this, and forget to preach the core of the matter: Jesus died on the cross for our sins.
I am not pointing fingers; I too am guilty of this. How amazing for us that His love endures forever! The rising of the sun is not as guaranteed as we suppose, neither is our time on this earth.
Paul teaches that there is no earthly wisdom in the doctrine, there is the demonstration of the the Spirit and power. Tell your friends the simple thing:
"I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and He died for my sins, and nothing can separate me from the love of God."
That in a way is enough- because from then on, you have set yourself apart and planted a seed in their life, and your daily actions after those words will set the precedent for their faith conversion. Fret not! Is not God with us?
